Set up by the APRIL Group in 2012, 'First Step to Employment' aims to help young people aged 18 to 25 with few or no qualifications to find employment. Every year, this initiative enables a dozen young people who are far-removed from the job market to set off on a new professional adventure in the world of insurance.
Can you describe the initiative?
Run by the APRIL Group's CSR department and the University, this project offers training to these young people within the APRIL Group's various subsidiaries, leading to an insurance qualification, as well as support from a personal tutor. To this end, tutors are given training in how to welcome and support them throughout their induction programme within the company.
So, on 9th January, ten young people were awarded their professional diplomas in insurance and customer relations at the end of their programme, and will be starting their temporary 12-month contracts within one of the subsidiaries of the Group involved in the initiative.
The ceremony, which took place at the Olympique Lyonnais Stadium, was held in association with the OL Foundation which organised a conference for participants on the topic of motivation and surpassing oneself with two former OL players: Gueida Fofana and Christian Bassila
