Did you know? Today 2 out of 10 French people report that they are regular volunteer carers for one or several of their friends or family who are ill, disabled or dependant.
The emergence of carers shows how we can act responsibly and show solidarity to our friends and family. This type of support is fully in keeping with the principles promoted by the APRIL Foundation, which sees carers as pioneers who push the boundaries. That is why the Foundation is launching the first report on carers, in association with the BVA institute, in order to analyse and understand this rapidly developing social issue, and to be as fully aware of their situation as possible.
The APRIL Foundation's hope is to address the issue of carers without any preconceptions, as a fundamental, significant and positive change in society, and by opening up its study to cover the whole range of carers and beneficiaries.
