AAP is dedicated to medical assistance and medical claims handling of for insurance and assistance companies. Operationally headquartered in Thailand, it currently operates throughout the Asia-Pacific region and has representation offices in Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Australia. Created in 2003, its turnover reaches €1.3 million, employing 45 specialised staff. AAP is widely renowned for its high level of service quality and expertise, and has notably expert knowledge of Asians healthcare networks.
Paul Vermeulen, the chief executive officer of APRIL International: “This acquisition fits in perfectly with the building of a global network in assistance and insurance services for people on the move. This first point of entry in Asia-Pacific will enable us to gradually roll out our insurance offering as well as new assistance platforms. This region offers huge potential for our business as it contains the largest number of expatriates worldwide.”
The consolidation of AAP within the group will offer many advantages, such as immediate synergies with Coris, of which AAP is one of the key service providers, and with APRIL International Expat, which will be able to provide its policyholders in Asia with local support.
By joining APRIL, for which mobility insurance and international assistance are strategic business units, AAP will move to a new level of growth.
AAP will be consolidated in the Group’s accounts as from the third quarter of 2012.
APRIL (Compartment B, Deferred Settlement Service) employs 3,830 people in 37 countries and provides services to more than 6 million policyholders.
Revenue for the first half of 2012 will be published on Monday 23 July after closing.
