APRIL’s sporting partnerships
APRIL has always aimed to change the image of insurance and to work in areas others do not.
Our partnerships strategy illustrates this ambition, by supporting athletes who shake things up in each of their disciplines, and with whom we share our values.
APRIL and the OL women’s team: the story continues!
As a partner of the OL women’s team for over 10 years, APRIL supports European football’s most successful club, driven by a team ethos and an exceptional fighting spirit. As French champions (14 times), European champions (seven times) and Women’s Club World Cup champions in 2012, the OL ladies have shaken up the very masculine image of football and achieved full recognition by their peers and the public.
Irrespective of their geographical roots, we share the values of commitment with them as well as the societal values of a club dedicated to societal responsibility: supporting employment, education, healthcare, assisting people suffering from illness or disability, and promoting amateur sport.
As part of its support for women and bold projects, it was only natural for APRIL to confirm this strong link with the women’s team. A partner since 2011, APRIL is very proud to renew its partnership for this season, as official supplier.
APRIL Marine supports Matéo Le Calvic for his new Mini-Transat 2023 project.
Matéo Le Calvic is the new APRIL Marine ambassador and skipper. At the age of 21, Matéo has embarked on the dream of his life by launching his project and buying his Mini 6.5 with the aim of taking part in the 2023 Mini Transat.
APRIL Marine has always been keen to support daring, ambitious and committed projects that respect the seas and oceans. These strong values are those that Matéo and APRIL Marine share.
Matéo is a technician in the design office of Benjamin Dutreux’s Éole Performance team (9th in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe), and is also involved in the Mini Transat project, which will start in September 2023 in Les Sables d’Olonne, the home of APRIL Marine. The Mini Transat is a real school of ocean racing, a 4050 nautical mile Atlantic crossing (equivalent to 7500 km) aboard a 6.5-metre boat alone and without assistance.
The numerous convoying trips aboard racing boats of varying sizes, the regattas in which Matéo has taken part such as the Spi Ouest France, the Défi Azimut or his offshore sailing for training sessions alongside Benjamin Dutreux have given him the necessary experience to embark on this project.
Johann Zarco and APRIL Moto, a high-performance mindset in common; a clear-cut partnership.
Since May 2018, APRIL Moto has been a partner of Johann Zarco, a French motorbike rider currently racing to achieve his dream of becoming MotoGP World Champion.
A two-time Moto2 World Champion in 2015 and 2016, it was in 2017 at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans that he scored his first podium in the premier class. Sixth in the overall standings in 2018, Johann Zarco took the trophy for the top independent rider.
Johann Zarco then took on a new challenge and joined Red Bull KTM, but the French rider and his new team parted ways in 2019 after a difficult first season. In 2020, Johann Zarco relaunched his MotoGP career with the Ducati-powered Reale Avintia Racing team.
He now rides with the Pramac team, Ducati’s main satellite team.
He is equipped with the latest version of the official Ducati bike, the Desmosedici GP, and receives the same development as the official riders, whilst continuing to work with part of the technical team that accompanied him in 2020. Johann can again aim higher and has all the elements to win.
APRIL Moto wanted to build this partnership around the concept “Let’s give our best” with a common value: the spirit of competition. It is indeed this competitive spirit that drives Johann Zarco and the APRIL Moto teams to give their best every day: one to surpass himself and win races, the other to earn the preference and loyalty of their customers.
Today, APRIL Moto is proud to share the same spirit of performance with this exceptional rider by accompanying him in the race for the world title
