The APRIL Foundation launches its podcast Agir pour prévenir (Act to Prevent): behavioural science in the service of health

At a time when the sustainability of our healthcare system, one of the most protective in the world, has become a major issue in public debate, and just a few weeks before the vote on the Social Security financing bill for the coming year, the APRIL Foundation offers a different perspective on prevention and health promotion. In its new health podcast, ‘Agir pour prévenir’ (Act to Prevent), Sophie Ferreira, the Foundation’s Executive Director, welcomes researchers, professionals, field workers and decision-makers to discuss specific issues relating to young people’s health.

Since 2023, the APRIL Foundation has been studying the contributions of behavioural sciences to building a shared culture of health promotion and improving the effectiveness of prevention measures. Its work focuses primarily on young people aged 18 to 25, a pivotal and complex generation subject to constant changes in circumstances that impact their relationship with health. Committed to disseminating knowledge and best practices, the APRIL Foundation is today launching its podcast ‘Agir pour prévenir’ (Act to prevent), in which each month a new episode fuels collective reflection on health prevention by giving a voice to those who bring it to life on a daily basis.

‘Researchers, healthcare professionals, field workers, user representatives, public decision-makers… everyone contributes their insights, experiences and convictions. Behavioural sciences are at the crossroads of many disciplines, and it is this multidisciplinary approach that gives rise to initiatives with a stronger and more lasting impact, benefiting the health of young people,’ explains Sophie Ferreira.

Agir pour prévenir is available today on all streaming platforms: Deezer, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and YouTube.

Sophie Ferreira Le Morvan, General Delegate of the APRIL Foundation, is available to discuss topics related to youth health, health prevention and promotion measures, and the issues identified by the APRIL Foundation.

About the APRIL Foundation

Created in 2008 with a strong conviction that everyone can take charge of their own health provided they have the knowledge and tools to preserve their health capital, the APRIL Foundation’s mission is to promote health by encouraging preventive behaviours as an alternative to ‘all-care’ approaches. In 2023, it is strengthening and expanding its mission by questioning the sustainable implementation of the transition from intention to action in health matters. Because the issue of behavioural change is central to prevention and health promotion, the APRIL Foundation draws on behavioural sciences (neuroscience, positive psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, etc.). It supports research in behavioural sciences and health, and proposes and devises associated experimental measures. It provides assistance and expertise to innovative project leaders and disseminates knowledge and best practices.
