APRIL strengthens its governance to support its next phase of growth and international ambitions

APRIL announces the appointment of Violaine Gomar as Group General Secretary. She joins the Executive Committee to support a new phase in APRIL’s development, marked by accelerating international expansion, stronger growth ambitions and an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

In this context, Violaine Gomar will assume responsibility for the Group’s Legal, Compliance and Internal Control functions. Her appointment marks a further step in strengthening the Group’s governance, supporting a sustainable, responsible and international growth strategy.

With more than twenty years’ experience gained at international law firms and subsequently at insurance companies including AXA, Violaine Gomar has held senior positions in France, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. She has supported numerous strategic transactions, large-scale transformations and governance developments within international organisations operating in highly regulated environments.

This expertise will be a major asset for APRIL, whose development now depends on its ability to combine growth, operational excellence and effective management of regulatory requirements worldwide.

About Violaine Gomar

Violaine Gomar has more than twenty years’ experience in legal affairs, governance, compliance and risk management across France, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. After beginning her career at international law firms, she moved into the insurance industry, where she held a number of senior leadership positions.

Most recently, she served as General Secretary and Chief Legal, Compliance and Risk Officer at AXA Group Operations. In this role, she oversaw Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Data Protection and Internal Control, while also leading the governance of an international network of subsidiaries.

Admitted to the Paris and New York Bars, she has supported numerous strategic transactions, large-scale transformations and governance projects within international groups.
