31 August 2026

APRIL announces the acquisition of Alexis Assurances, a brokerage firm specialising in renewable energy and construction insurance. This transaction marks the launch of the Group’s future P&C specialty division, which aims to gradually bring together leading expertise in highly technical markets. It represents a new step in APRIL’s growth strategy, serving its partners and their clients.

A new ambition in specialty insurance

With this acquisition, APRIL is taking a pivotal step in the development of its property and casualty business. The Group is laying the foundations for a dedicated specialty insurance division designed to bring together recognised expertise in demanding markets where technical know-how, high-quality advice and close client relationships are key differentiators.

This strategy reflects a strong conviction: specialty markets offer sustainable growth opportunities, driven by major economic, industrial and environmental transformations. By building on expert teams and leading positions in their respective markets, APRIL aims to establish itself as a major player in specialty insurance in France.

The acquisition of Alexis Assurances is the first milestone in this strategy.

Recognised expertise at the heart of the energy transition

Founded near Lyon, Alexis Assurances is one of France’s leading independent brokers specialising in renewable energy insurance.

The company supports more than 1,000 clients, ranging from SMEs to large corporations, throughout the entire lifecycle of their projects. Its expertise notably covers professional and decennial liability insurance, contractors’ all risks insurance and machinery breakdown cover for photovoltaic and wind power installations, as well as infrastructure supporting the energy transition more broadly.

In addition to bringing this distinctive expertise to the Group, the acquisition will also enable APRIL to strengthen its position in the construction insurance market by developing a high-value direct distribution model alongside its long-established wholesale brokerage business.

“This acquisition is much more than an external growth transaction. It marks the launch of our future P&C specialty division. Our ambition is to progressively bring together recognised expertise in markets where technical know-how makes all the difference, with the aim of building a leading player serving our partners and their clients.

Alexis Assurances shares our entrepreneurial culture, our commitment to expertise and our close connection to the market. Renewable energy is a particularly relevant first market given its strong momentum and the growing need for specialist insurance solutions. We are delighted to welcome Clément and Gautier Claudinon and their teams to the Group,” said Marc-André Dupont, Head of APRIL’s Property & Casualty Division.

A shared ambition

Joining APRIL is a natural next step in our development, giving us the resources to accelerate our growth and take our expertise to international markets, while preserving what makes us distinctive: recognised technical expertise, close relationships with our clients and the ability to design bespoke insurance solutions.

We share the same vision of growth with APRIL: developing niche expertise while preserving its value, agility and quality of service,” said Clément and Gautier Claudinon, Managing Directors of Alexis Assurances.

The first milestone in a long-term growth strategy

With this transaction, APRIL is opening a new chapter in the development of its property and casualty business.

The future P&C specialty division will gradually expand by bringing together complementary expertise in highly technical, high-potential markets, combining organic growth with targeted acquisitions.

This strategy is fully aligned with the Group’s ambition to build leading positions in segments where value creation is primarily driven by expertise, innovation and long-term client support.
